SEPTEMBER
GALLERY AND SHOP HOP NIGHT IN LITTLE ITALY
Friday, September 3rd (first Friday of every month)
Check out the fall clothing line from GALERIA
QUETZAL. Cotton jackets,
(bolero style, dressy and casual) shawls, scarves from Mexico
& Guatemala
and soft, warm Alpaca Clothing from Peru for the
cooler
evenings.
TASTE OF LITTLE ITALY and Silent auction is
Sunday September
19th.
It will take place from 3pm-7pm in the Holy Rosary churchyard.
More
than forty Italian restaurants and bakeries will present their
finest dishes
and desserts for sampling, and more than 200 Italian wines will be
featured. Tickets are $70, or ten tickets for $650.
GALERIA QUETZAL WILL BE OPEN THAT SUNDAY!!!
Because of the coming of Autumn we will close on the week days
Monday through Wednesday at 6pm. Call us if you wish us to attend to
you later than 6pm. Thursday open until 7pm. Fridays &
Saturdays until 9.

OCTOBER
THE FALL ART WALK IN LITTLE
ITALY "A Grape Harvest Celebration"
October 1st, 2nd and 3rd noon until 10pm
Friday and Saturday
Sunday noon until 6pm
THE MEXICAN DAY OF THE DEAD EXHIBIT at GALERIA QUETZAL
starts Wednesday, OCTOBER 6th and runs through Saturday NOVEMBER 13th.
The gallery will be filled with "El Día de los Muertos" Art
objects. Our "ofrenda"
with Mexican Folk Art will be the focal
point. The gallery will be filled with
objects that people can
use to decorate their own altars. Candles, skeletons,
"papel
picado" and sugar skulls for starters.
Our featured local artist will be George Kocar who
is famous for his whimsical
skeleton art.
THE CELEBRATION - FIESTA
will be Friday Oct. 29th and Saturday Oct. 30th from 7 - 10pm at
Galeria Quetzal.
The fiesta will include a costume party with prizes in different
categories for
the best costumes, i.e. best skeleton, most creative,
most outrageous, most
authentic Mexican, most authentic from other
Hispanic countries that celebrate the Day of the Dead. Details
will follow.
Suggestions welcome.
Authentic Food, Live Music and Libations!!
COLUMBUS DAY PARADE takes place in Little Italy on Monday,
October 11th. SHOP and GALLERIES WILL BE OPEN OR AT LEAST

Holiday display starts Wednesday November 17th at Galeria
Quetzal.
We will feature three Christmas Trees decorated from three
different
countries; Guatemala, Mexico and Peru. There will be lots
of Hispanic Folk Art Manger Scenes as well as unique gifts from sixteen
Hispanic
countries.
